Our innovative and growing UK sales and service centre is hiring for a warehouse operative. The Warehouse Operative will report to the Parts Specialist, with indirect reporting to the Workshop Supervisor. This role is being developed in line with the UK & EMEAI Strategies and will work in conjunction with our Parts, Workshop, and Inside Sales teams. The support that this role will offer to both the UK&I Team, and the customer and supply base will help towards meeting all elements of the strategies, but in particular the ‘Unparalleled Customer Experience’; ‘Provide and Prove the Value of JLG’, ‘Live a People’s First Culture’ and ‘Institutionalized Operational Excellence’ elements.

Responsibilities for Warehouse Operative

  • Stock movement on XA Mapics

  • Comply with all the warehouse procedures, processes and safe working practices

  • Carry out additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as required to achieve departmental requirements

  • Follow work to list as directed by supervisor

  • Accurate picking of customer orders using XA Mapics system

  • Working to tight deadlines and completing various tasks at short notice

  • There will be some physical and repetitive light, medium and heavy lifting and moving of stock in this role. Lifting boxes daily including occasional heavy manual work

  • Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work

  • Preparation and receipt of appropriate documentation pertaining Receiving and Dispatching orders using XA Mapics, Online Express (OLE) and Microsoft excel

  • Ensure accurate stock checking of parts and machine inventory

  • Maintaining accurate records including timesheets, stocktake, machine movements

  • Keeping workshop & stores & Yard at a good level of tidiness

  • Helping in all aspects of the warehouse workload

  • Experience of working in a busy warehouse/ stockroom

  • Full UK driving license as you will be driving stock to different locations

  • Fork-lift competency certificate as you will be driving a forklift to Unload/load machines & parts need on a daily basis

  • Prepared to be trained on the use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) and is okay with working at heights

  • Facility lock up on a daily basis

Qualifications for Warehouse Operative

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, CRM’s (Salesforce) and Excel spreadsheets using pivot tables

  • Overtime paid at time and half once you work over 45 hours

  • Assist Team leader in any additional activities as required

  • Assist in loading trailer or truck

  • Assisting in the overall production and despatch of orders

  • Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety standards

  • Must thrive on working in fast paced, reactive working environments

  • Be strongly skilled in organisation, problem-solving, customer service, and multitasking while being committed to excellence

  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication (phone & email etiquette) and organisational skills

  • Must be able to assist in sales and marketing campaigns as needed, particularly through presentations

Good emotional intelligence, effective interaction with callers, visitors, managers and co-workers and self-management are keys to success in the role.
